Best Online Casinos Netherlands 2026
Dutch players have had a properly regulated online casino market since October 2021, when the Remote Gambling Act took effect and the Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) began issuing licences to operators. That matters in practice: KSA-licensed casinos must verify your identity, check you against the CRUKS exclusion register, and meet financial guarantees that offshore sites aren't held to. Every casino on this page holds a current KSA licence.
We tested each one with a real account — deposited with iDEAL, reviewed the bonus terms in full, timed the withdrawal, and contacted support with a specific question. If a platform had problems we couldn't overlook, it's not here.
The KSA licence register for online casinos in the Netherlands is still small — fewer than 25 operators currently hold an active licence to serve Dutch players. We list the five we've tested with real accounts and real deposits. If a platform had issues we couldn't resolve, it didn't make the cut, regardless of bonus size or commercial arrangements.
Playing at a KSA-Licensed Casino — What Actually Changes
The KSA licence is the dividing line in the Dutch market. An operator with one has gone through financial vetting, game certification, and accepted binding responsible gambling obligations. An operator without one is operating illegally in the Netherlands and has no accountability to Dutch players. That's the actual difference — not branding, not bonus size.
What the KSA licence requires from operators
The Kansspelautoriteit was established in 2012 and took over online gambling regulation in October 2021 under the Wet kansspelen op afstand. To hold a licence, operators must maintain separate player fund accounts, submit to independent game fairness audits, implement identity verification before first deposit, and integrate with the CRUKS exclusion register. KSA can fine and revoke licences — and has done so. The same rules also ban autoplay on slot machines at all licensed Dutch casinos — a restriction that doesn't apply at offshore operators.
If a casino isn't on the KSA register, it cannot legally take money from a Dutch player. That's not a technicality — if something goes wrong at an unlicensed site, you have no route for a complaint. The KSA doesn't handle disputes about operators it hasn't licensed.
CRUKS — the self-exclusion register
Every KSA-licensed casino is required to check new players against CRUKS — the Central Register for Exclusion from Games of Chance — before allowing them to deposit. If you're registered in CRUKS, no licensed Dutch casino can accept your money. The exclusion covers all licensed platforms simultaneously, so you don't have to contact each operator separately.
To self-exclude, register directly at cruks.nl. The minimum period is six months. This is one of the few genuinely effective player protection tools in online gambling — it works because it's mandatory, not optional.
Payments: iDEAL deposits, Trustly withdrawals
| Method | Deposits | Withdrawals | Notes |
| iDEAL | Instant | No | Covers around 70% of Dutch online payments. Deposit only — you'll need a second method for cashouts. |
| Trustly | Instant | 24–48 hours | Bank-authenticated, works with Dutch banks, supports both directions. Closest thing to iDEAL with withdrawals. |
| SEPA bank transfer | 1–3 days | 1–3 days | Reliable for larger amounts. Slow but goes directly to your Dutch bank account. |
| Visa / Mastercard | Instant | 3–5 days | Available at most KSA-licensed casinos. Withdrawal credited back to the original card. |
| Skrill / Neteller | Instant | 2–24 hours | Fastest withdrawal option if set up. Requires a separate e-wallet account. |
iDEAL is deposit-only by design — the system was built for one-direction payments. Most Dutch players deposit with iDEAL and cash out via Trustly or SEPA. If withdrawal speed matters, set up Trustly before you play. Some KSA casinos require you to have processed at least one withdrawal via a supported method before they'll pay out. See our full iDEAL casino guide for more on how it works specifically for deposits.
Responsible gambling under KSA rules
KSA-licensed casinos must prompt you to set deposit limits during registration, offer time-out and self-exclusion tools, and send monthly activity statements. They're also restricted on bonus advertising — which is why some Dutch-licensed casinos offer smaller or simpler bonuses than offshore competitors. That's a regulatory constraint, not a shortcoming.

Before you open an account
Confirm the KSA licence is current — check the register at kansspelautoriteit.nl, not just the casino's footer. Read the withdrawal policy before depositing: what's the processing time, is there a weekly limit, what documents are needed for KYC. If the casino supports iDIN, use it during registration — it connects to your Dutch bank for instant age and identity verification, no document uploads needed. If you're claiming a bonus, read the full terms — wagering requirement, maximum bet while wagering, game restrictions, time limit, withdrawal cap. Test live chat with a real question before committing money. And set a deposit limit during registration. You can raise it later; starting with one costs nothing and helps if things go sideways.
