Licensing: the operator changed, and most reviews missed it

When I checked the footer on 26 August 2026 it named Metlait SRL, a company registered under Costa Rican law with the number 3-102-911867 and an address in Tejar, El Guarco, Cartago. The licence line underneath it reads e-gaming licence No. 0000064, issued by the Tobique Gaming Commission.

That is not what this page said in July, and it is not what you will read almost anywhere else. Other reviews still have Zotabet down to Hollycorn N.V. on a Curaçao licence, which was true earlier in the site's life and is not true now. If you are comparing pages, check the date on them.

Tobique is a First Nation gaming authority in Canada, licensing under its own 2023 gaming act, and it sells to operators aimed at international markets rather than regulated ones. Practically speaking it sits below Curaçao for player recourse, and Curaçao is already a long way below the MGA. A Costa Rican company is a second thing to weigh: Costa Rica issues no gambling licence at all, so the registration number tells you the company exists and nothing about how it is supervised.
